Where Are They Now?

Tell us about your wedding

Our rustic themed wedding was held at Gum Gully Farm in the Dandenong Ranges in March 2014. We were married in a beautiful wooden chapel at the property followed by a reception in the barn. The day was filled with sunshine, games, live music and laughter and we loved every minute of it.

Now that some time has passed, what would you do differently
We were really thrilled with our day. The only thing that perhaps we would do differently is to take bridal party photos before the ceremony to allow more time spent with our family and friends.

What was the memorable moment of your wedding day?
Dancing with our family and friends to our favourite bluegrass band with a backdrop of fairy lights and bunting in the most beautiful barn.

What advice do you have for others planning their wedding?
Focus on what you both want as there will be several opinions and expectations from others in the lead up to the day. We remained firmly committed to making sure that every decision was based on what we wanted to do, not ‘should’ do and we think this made a big difference.

Did you have any vendors you absolutely adored and still remember?
Tess Follett our photographer. We had so much fun on the day with Tess and the incredible photos she captured means we will never forget our day.

If you could do it all over again, what would your wedding look like?
Exactly the same. We wish we could do it all over again!

Where has life taken you? What are you up to now?
We’ve done a lot of travelling since our wedding with the highlight being a 3-week hiking trip in Canada in 2019. We’ve recently built and moved into a new house which we are busy transforming into a home.

What is the secret to your marriage?
We believe the secret to our marriage is that we are really great friends, enjoy each other’s company and knew each other really well before we got married so there were no surprises after the wedding day.
