Happy Monday Dotties! We’re embracing winter with all its requirement to stay inside and reflect, it’s giving us time to absorb and understand what is going on in the world, and to make way for what is to come.

And just in case you couldn’t tell, we’re great advocates of winter weddings! What a great time for a wedding (next year!). Think cosy fires, frosty mornings, and lots of candlelight to add to the atmosphere. To help you explore the possibilities that a winter wedding can bring, take a look at our Polka Dot Directory and chat to our vendor who will have ideas to help you. We have Cakes,  we have Transport, we have Flowers and Accessories – we even have Styling & Hire and Jewellery.

Check out the Polka Dot Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!

Venues may be temporarily closed or just reopening but that doesn’t mean we can’t ooh and aah over them and appreciate them for their unique qualities. Accommodating 180 guests at a seated reception with dance floor, Lancemore Macedon Ranges also offers a choice of ceremony locations such as an old elm tree, Ned Kelly’s Lookout or the more formal Secret Garden. We asked Charlotte of Lancemore Macedon Ranges five questions in five minutes:

What is the most important piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?

Plan your wedding together! It is both your wedding day, not just one individual and has fun planning it. If things are becoming stressful, take a breather, see if you can delegate jobs to family/friends if it’s getting too stressful OR pass it on to your wedding coordinator to assist. It’s what we are here for!

Tell us about a hidden talent you have?

I can name a song and the artist within 3 seconds of the song being played.

As a vendor, what excites you about the wedding day?

Seeing family and friends mingle and get to know each other; shy at the start and then breaking it down on the dance floor together by the end of the evening. Of course, the first look on the couples faces when walking down the aisle.

What are you known for?

Singing along to music that isn’t playing.

If you could choose a song to play for the rest of your life what would it be?

An acoustic version of “Latch” by Sam Smith – my first dance wedding song.
