Want to elope but not a fan of romantic styling? Looking for something a little bit more offbeat? Then this editorial, in celebration of The Elopement Issue might just be right up your alley.

Inspired by photographer Miranda of Oh Wild‘s love of everything rock and roll in her teens.

But it turns out, this desert rockstar offbeat elopement editorial also pays special homage to Miranda (and her husband Max’s) own decision to call off the big traditional wedding and elope to Bali. Sharing “After my husband and I cancelled our big wedding for an elopement when we struggled to find out of the box venues for a ceremony here in SA, I decided to make it my mission to inspire people to find destination styled locations in our very own state, to show people they don’t have to run to the other side of the world for an adventurous exotic looking elopement when we have so much here in South Australia.”

Miranda pulled in wedding planner stylist  Ever After Event Hire and stylist to bring the vision to life. The dream team bringing in beautiful floral arrangements by Ethereal Botanica in tones of burnt orange and sweet peach, modern signage in black and peach from Ovela Designs inviting the newlyweds to “rock the night”, modern black and white stationery pieces by Ovela Designs completely on theme. And the piece de resistance, a glorious shimmering black, tiered wedding cake by Myrtle and Clay.

Each detail carefully curated to keep in with the team’s mission of “grunge, but make it cute”. Models Joshua Arabilla and Georgia Robertson playing the part in modern, unexpected pieces- a tiered, ruffle detail two-piece wedding gown, an all-black look, leather jackets and wide-brimmed hat. Georgia’s hair and makeup finished by Alicia Jones and Kahla Adam Makeup.

In a world where eloping is ever-popular, where we have to rethink what a wedding is and rethink what it means to us –  then creating an elopement that is true to you, is more important than ever. So rockstars, scroll on down for all the inspiration you need!
