Looking for the perfect bridesmaids gowns for your girls? Then look no further than Bridesmaids Only who stock a wide range of gowns – short and long, every colour of the rainbow and gowns suited to every season of the year. With many designers to choose from as well as their own designs, Tessa and Hayley offer a try before you buy service where the gown(s) of your choice may be shipped all over Australia (invaluable if your maids live in different parts of the country). After all, you want all your maids to look spectacular and the best way to ensure the perfect style and fit for everybody in your wedding party is the try the gowns on! Mother of the Bride gowns, maternity gowns, and plus size gowns and flowergirls are not left out – there are gowns for you too!

We asked Tessa of Bridesmaids Only five questions in five minutes:

Weddings are the best to work on because….
You get to see someone’s dream (sometimes life long dreams) and vision come to life. You get to be part of the journey and then to see the joy at the end, the smile on the faces. Wedding photos that we get tagged in literally make me do a happy dance and I smile from ear to ear. The dresses being showcased on beautiful women, all across Australia is something truly special for us. Sometimes customers have only been a name via a million emails so to put a face to the story is the best.

What is something people would be surprised to know about your job or something that challenges you about your job?
That I bought Bridesmaids Only from another lady in Sydney and relocated it to Queensland. I have an ecommerce background and have been in the wedding industry for over 10 years. It was all a male focus though and I really loved the idea of something more female-focused so I could have a little more fun. Female bridal fashion, in general, is a huge challenge, the sizes, colours and time restraints with matching designers and bridal party timeframes can get stressful. Our own in house collection and expanding that based on bridesmaids feedback was so much fun but took a lot longer than I expected and had many road bumps along the way. Also, we really changed up the brand when I bought it and we were just hitting our positive growth figures when covid hit!

What is it about the creative process that you most enjoy?
Hayley and I both love seeing our designs come to life from both paper to a finished dress and then a finished dress on a bridesmaid for the first time. I do not think the buzz we get from that will ever go away.

What are you hilariously bad at?
Getting our new designs onto the website. I love seeing them in our office but photographing and creating the listing on our website so that bridesmaids can see it is not a strength 😉

When you were small what did you dream of being and where have those dreams taken you?
Haha a forensic scientist! But when I hit my 20’s I really wanted to be an entrepreneur and travel. So far being an entrepreneur has allowed me to travel to 20 countries and speak on stage plus mentor other couples in eCommerce.
