I was dreaming of a mid week getaway when I stumbled upon Atlantic Byron Bay. Not only is Byron Bay one of the most beautiful places on earth, but their accommodation options? Well they take me right back to the days of Mad Men! (An Australian version, with dribbly icecream and surfboards!)

While the guesthouse and standard accommodation looks gorgeous, it’s the Airstream vintage trailer that really got me excited! Perfect for a beach side honeymoon, the trailer contains a double bed with kitchenette, dinette, television and air conditioning.

Now all you need is a vintage swimsuit and freshly squeezed lemonade in hand for a picture perfect honeymoon on that gorgeous deck chair on your own private deck!

The standard accommodation looks like it might fit the bill quite nicely too..

Anliette of Palais Floral shared her favourite place with us yesterday…

Wow..! I was elated when Ms Polka invited me to write about my favourite spot in the world..! The first thing that comes into my mind was obviously France. Now, as some of you who are familiar with Palais Floral, you may know that we ADORE Paris. However, I guess everyone would know how wonderful Paris is. So, I want to take this opportunity to share with you about a little part of France called Uzès. It is a beautiful petite village in South of France. I suggest you may want to “Google it” to find out more about its facts.

Uzès is full of charm, pristine clean, oozes romance and full of joie de vivre. As you know, the French are probably one culture who knows how to have a great lifestyle. Every Wednesdays and Saturdays the Market {Place aux Hèrbe} is just full of life and wonderful aromas filled the air with fresh Olives, Herbs – spices, les baguettes, fresh flowers and other French produits. Not only that our sense of smell is provoked, there is also musicians who play either their Accordions or Saxophones. The sound of music transcended through the little alleys around the village town centre. It is such an orgasmic experience of culture and French joie de vivre..!

If you like to get into this market and be one of ‘the locals’, go early.. as when it gets later – the tourists start rolling in.. And, you know it is much better to rub shoulders with the locals. I can spend hours in the morning just observing how they interact with each other, taking in the warm summer sun and a mixture of aromas around me. It’s exhilarating..!

Et aprés, after absorbing all the hubs and buzz of the lively market. I’d like to go home to tranquillity at our Palace – the birth place of Palais Floral. It is surrounded by miles and miles of Vineyard and Sunflower field {and this is just 10 minutes drive from the town centre by the way}. It’s a bliss to watch the sunset with a glass of wine, fresh olives et les fromages {bought from the markets, bien sûr!}.

Bon..! I hope you’ve enjoyed our short capture of our favourite spot in France!

My Honeymoon: Taveuni Island Resort, Fiji Bonnie1

To me a honeymoon is a relaxing holiday, a love-bubble of happiness where you refer to your other half as ‘Husband’ for the first time and hotel staff call you Mrs.

When we discovered Taveuni Island Resort in Fiji, awarded one of the Top 100 Places To Visit Before You Die, we knew it was perfect for our first holiday as husband and wife.

Taveuni Island Resort is a 5 star boutique-style tropical haven on the isle of Taveuni, a 90 minute flight from Nadi.

With only eight bures, the resort is exclusive and luxurious whilst remaining true to its stunning natural environment and that is really what makes it a wonderful holiday experience.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like family and treated like royalty. Spoilt with three delicious three course meals a day all home-made on the premises.

The bure we stayed in – the Veidomoni, was huge; an enormous bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a lounge room, all of which opened onto an expansive patio with a view that was truly out of this world. The uninterrupted view of the ocean was definitely best enjoyed under the outdoor shower which was shielded from the rest of the resort by lush tropical vegetation. Truly blissful.

Relaxing is mandatory and we enjoyed several massages at the on-site spa during our stay. Evenings were spent listening to traditional Fijian music (their voices are incredible) and whilst we had a hard time dragging ourselves away from the sparkling wet-edge pool we still managed to take in some of the stunning surroundings.

The three waterfalls at Bouma National Park, led by your own personal guide, are definitely worth the hike. The tropical beauty of the park is matched only by the spectacular view. I highly recommend a swim in the natural pools to cool off- after you’ve enjoyed your delicious packed lunch of course.

The natural water slide is stunning and an attraction for the local boys. My husband endeared himself to the locals with a series of daring slides along the rocks while I played photographer… I don’t think my Zimmerman bikini could have withstood the ride.

The International Date Line (stand afoot today and yesterday), coastal walks and local shops were all a wonderful experience made all the better for the lovely tour-guides who felt more like good friends by the end.

The area is known for its world class diving and my husband spent a morning exploring The White Wall and Rainbow Reef while I snorkeled lazily around one of the many islets.

Kayaking in the crystal clear water is blissful and with the beach at the bottom of the property no planning is required.

We were farewelled from the resort just as we were welcomed, with traditional Fijian singing and friendly smiles and I can definitely see us holidaying there again.
