I recently came across this brand new site called Chip In which I think is a fantastic idea! A way of organising group events where everyone can easily pay their own way for a fabulous experience. Perfect for a Hens or Bucks Day, Chipin.com.au offers many great ideas including Thai massage, group makeup lessons, hot air ballooning and even cooking classes.
The site looks after everything from emailing your friends, collecting the payments and delivering the gifts which means no worry, no stress and all you have to do (other than pick the experience!) is sit back and enjoy your day!
Hot Air Ballooning, Twilight BBQ, One Hour Massage
Give the heads up to your bridesmaids and groomsmen about Chip In, after all the wedding planning you’ll be due for a great pre wedding celebration! Or if you want to get the newlyweds a great gift then Chip In can be used to have all your friends contribute!
Editor’s Note February 2010: Please note, Chipin has now closed.
“Still,” Morrie said, “there are a few rules I know to be true about love and marriage: If you don’t respect the other person, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. If you don’t know how to compromise, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. If you can’t talk openly about what goes on between you, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. And if you don’t have a common set of values in life, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. Your values must be alike. “And the biggest one of those values, Mitch?” Yes? “Your belief in the importance of your marriage.” He sniffed, then closed his eyes for a moment. “Personally,” he sighed, his eyes still closed, “I think marriage is a very important thing to do, and you’re missing a lot if you don’t try it.” He ended the subject by quoting a poem he believed in like a prayer: “Love each other or perish.”
I received a lovely email from Casie alerting me to this gorgeous polka dotted tableware from Rosanna
It’s currently on sale and is a great way to dress up any table, especially if you pair it with the Kate Spade design I wrote about previously. Add a touch of whimsy with the elegance of black and white. I’m not sure if they ship internationally, but if not you can always use a shipping service! Check out Rosanna’s very sweet range of tableware here.
Following on from yesterdays post about beach weddings. The first thing you need is a venue! We’re so lucky in Australia to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Here are some of my favourite beachside wedding venues, or weddings with a lovely coastal feel.
Located out of Sydney, Jonah’s is a stunning ‘all in one venue’. They provide accommodation, stunning options for your ceremony in their cliff top garden and plenty of room for your reception in its recently renovated rooms with a verandah and large windows overlooking the ocean. The food is gorgeous as they’re a fully functional restaurant outside of wedding bookings. If you so dare you can even arrive via seaplane. Jonah’s has a maximum capacity of 100 guests.
Palm Cove is such a beautiful spot, the beauty of having a wedding here means it gives your guests a mini holiday! The Sebel offers a variety of venues and a fully inclusive wedding package, leaving you free to concentrate on having a great time!
Cable Beach in Broome is a stunning part of Australia. Mother Earth has blessed Broome with white sandy beaches, blue waters and red rocks making it a breathtaking location! A beach ceremony followed by a reception under the stars sounds completely romantic to me! The most amazing scenery also contributes to the most amazing photographs!
Port Douglas is a popular tourist spot and with this beach as the premier beach of the area is it any wonder? Port Douglas has some amazing restaurants and things to do (including the beautiful Daintree Rainforest and just a hop skip and a jump to the Great Barrier Reef) which makes it great for a 4 day weekend celebration!
Of course with Australia’s massive coastline, this is only the tip of the iceberg of fantastic beachside wedding locations! What are your favourites?
