Jess & Mark

Graffiti always fascinates me – especially when it is legal and done like an incredible piece of street art. When Jess Kearney submitted this urban style engagement shoot I was thrilled! Jess explains “Mark and I first met  on a Saturday at a children’s indoor playcentre, Mark is a dad of two and I was a working as a nanny at the time. He came in and sat at the table next to me and we got chatting. When I left Mark gave me his business card as he later told me he was too nervous to stand up and type my number in his phone for fear of displaying his shaking hands.”

“We met up for dinner the following Friday night and didn’t part until the Sunday; we both just didn’t want to leave each other. We have been attached at the hip ever since! Mark and I didn’t have a traditional engagement, it was more of a discussion and joint decision that we wanted to get married. ”

“Engagement portraits didn’t even register as an idea for me so Jess originally took our photos for our wedding invite. We are having a colourful daytime wedding and we wanted the photos to reflect that so Jess suggested the Valley with all of its graffiti laden lanes and buildings..”
