Cupcakes are still one of the most popular dessert options for parties, events and weddings. After all who doesnât love a delicious cupcake? Cupcake Wrappers are a beautiful and easy way of decorating cupcakes for your next event. Here is a tutorial on how to make Vanilla Cupcakes and decorate easily using cupcake wrappers.
You Will Need:

–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Cupcake liners
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Cupcake/muffin tin
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Piping bag
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Cupcake or Cake stands to serve

Vanilla Cupcakes Ingredients (makes 12)
3/4 cups self-raising flour
2/3 cups plain flour
115g unsalted butter (soft)
1 cup caster sugar
2 large eggs (at room temp)
Â½ cup milk
1tsp vanilla essence
Vanilla Buttercream Ingredients
115g unsalted butter (soft)
3-4 cups icing sugar
Â¼ cup milk
1-2tsp vanilla essence (to taste)
To start with, preheat oven to 170Â°C and combine sifted flours and set aside. Cream butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy (5 â 10 mins). Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Fold in dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with milk and vanilla.
Spoon batter into cupcake liners until Â¾ full. Bake for 20 â 25 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. Cool on a cooling rack.
To make the Vanilla Buttercream.
Place butter, 2 cups of icing sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl, beat until light and creamy (about 5 mins). Gradually add remaining sugar, Â½ cup at a time until thick and fluffy (you may not need all of the sugar). You may add a splash of food colouring if desired. Use and store the buttercream at room temperature or it will set in the fridge.
Roll the sides of piping bag a couple of times, hold with one hand and use other hand to fill piping bag one spoon/spatula full at a time until full.
Once completely cool (this is essential so that cupcake wrappers donât get stained), wrap each cupcake with a cupcake wrapper and secure using pre-cut tab.
Â Pipe vanilla buttercream onto each cupcake, starting from the outside and working inwards.
Â Display on a beautiful cake or cupcake stand and enjoy!

I find when I use cupcake cases that are already decorative, the cupcakes don’t bake well in them and they give off a funny papery smell when they’re in the oven.
