What’s your favourite Christmas food?

I am a big sucker for pork crackling, but try not to eat too much… I also love shortbread – my mum has the best recipe!

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I think there was a Muppets Christmas movie I loved when I was little and Home Alone was always a classic.

Your favourite Christmas drink?

I love a glass of good quality red wine, but am prone to a yummy cocktail or two! Not sure if it’s very ‘Christmassy’ but my favourite cocktail of all time is a Tuscan Lemon Drop, sweet lemon with rosemary syrup – yum!

Is there something you love to do every Christmas?

I really love selecting gifts that I think are unique for the receiver and if I think my choice is perfect, I love gift giving and seeing their reactions. Living away from my family and close friends, I really love travelling to Perth to spend time with them in a relaxed atmosphere.

Do you have any Christmas family traditions?

My family is pretty low key about Christmas, the only traditions we have are to have a relaxed meal where we exchange gifts at some point on Christmas or Boxing Day.

Do you have a favourite shop that you visit at Christmas time?

Being in a regional centre, I normally do most of my Christmas shopping online. This year I bought some really funky gifts from Modcloth and Esty is always a favourite for unique gifts for everyone.

Do you bake at Christmas time? If yes, what are your favourite things to bake? Would you share the recipe?

I like to bake biscuits and cookies to give out as gifts and last year I made ‘cookie jars‘ for my close friends and family and they were a big hit.

Where will you be spending Christmas this time of year?

This year I am going to Perth with my fiance for Christmas Day (6 hour drive in the morning!), and then returning home to Kalgoorlie on Boxing Day for a few days before going back to Perth for a family wedding in the New Year! It will definitely be a busy period, but I am looking forward to catching up with family.

Where does Santa leave presents in your house?

Normally ‘Santa’ leaves presents under the tree, which I’ve made this year from tree branches from the local bushland park. Although this year, I got one of my presents early and it didn’t get a chance to go under the tree!

What do you leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve?

As we don’t have any little ones yet, nothing gets left out for Santa. If we had any biscuits in the house left over I’m sure I would have eaten them before Santa could get to them!

Finally, do you think you’re on Santa’s naughty or nice list and why?

Hmmm… This is a tough one, I’d like to think I’m on the nice list, but my fiance might think otherwise! In all seriousness, I’ve tried hard this year to do a lot more self reflection and work on who I am as a person. I think the extra effort I’ve put in to improve my health and well being has paid off and I’m looking forward to the challenges of next year.
