Recently I heard of an ingenious idea – a “pop-up wedding”! This fancy style of elopement lies somewhere between “a registry signing and a full-blown Kim Kardashian event”. I chatted with Brittany Snow of The Pop-Up Wedding Co to learn more about her wonderful concept.

“We found that our couples craved the sweetness of an elopement, but wanted to mark the moment that they became husband and wife with pretty flowers and an awesome ceremony. They wanted to elope, but they wanted Mum and Dad there. They wanted to run away, but she wanted to wear her dream dress. They both wanted to exchange meaningful vows in front of their nearest and dearest.”

“We just saw so many couples weighed down by the burden of planning an event for 100+ guests and thought maybe there’s a different way for people to celebrate marriage. We received many emails saying ‘We would love to do… but can’t because of… so we are now doing this really boring thing that we don’t want’.” Thus, the idea of The Pop-Up Wedding Co was born.”

“Pop-up weddings are hosted in unique locations and enable multiple couples to share a venue, photographer, stylist, florist, wedding planner and celebrant. Each wedding goes for about an hour, including a short ceremony followed by a photo session. Along with my celebrant-husband Josh Withers, we scour the country for amazing venues and wedding talent. We then work alongside all of the vendors to ensure everyone is on the same beautiful page for the event.”

“Of course, if you want a true elopement, then we are more than happy to accommodate this too. Recently, with one of our favourite photographers, we married Melissa and Aaron in the depths of a secluded forest; the newly weds then travelled onto their parents’ houses to share the good news.
