1. What is your favourite Christmas food?

Roast. I don’t care that it’s Summer and boiling hot. I love a roast lunch complete with roast potatoes. We also normally have a prawn cocktail. Nothing like mixing it up on Christmas Day!

2. What is your favourite Christmas movie?

The “Home Alone” series is a huge hit in our house, I’ve introduced it to my daughters (aged 9 and 10) and they love it too.

3. Your favourite Christmas drink?

Champagne. I always spoil myself with a bottle of something nice for Christmas Day. This year it’s Veuve.

4. Your favourite Christmas song?

“Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”

5. Is there something you love to do every Christmas?

There’s nothing better than the pure anticipation and joy of Christmas for my kids. Their excitement in the lead up, and seeing the joy on their faces Christmas day as they unwrap their presents is very special to me.

I also love spending the day with our families – they all live in the country, so we don’t see a lot of them for most of the year, so it’s nice to catch up, see our parents, siblings, and nephews, and share a drink and a lovely meal together.

6. How do you Deck the Halls? What is your favourite Christmas decoration?

We always have a tree. I tend to change it up every few years, but at the moment it’s classic red and white. The angel has always been my favourite. Ever since I was a little girl we saved the angel until last for the top of the tree, and she watches over everyone to make sure they’ve been good.

7. Do you have any Christmas family traditions?

“The Elf on the Shelf” is fast becoming a new Christmas tradition for us. Google is due to arrive December 1st this year, I dread the mayhem he will cause!

Roast and Champagne is always the standard on Christmas day, along with cherries and prawns. A nap in the afternoon under the air-conditioning to sleep off the food coma is always required. Then we do it all again at another house for dinner. It’s a big day!

8. Do you have a favourite shop that you visit at Christmas time?

I always end up in Mozi at Christmas. They have so many fabulous gift ideas at varying price points and I adore their packaging. My kids always pick me something from there for Christmas. I love little soaps, candles and mugs, so it’s easy for them to pick something inexpensive for me that they know I’ll love and use. This year I think I’m getting the cocktails swizzle sticks. But shh. I think it’s a surprise.

9. Do you bake at Christmas time? If yes, what are your favourite things to bake? Would you share the recipe?

I have a few friends that we do ‘made with love’ presents for rather than buying something. They are bakers. I don’t consider myself a baker, but I can make Boules de Neige. And they are delicious. I do them in my Thermomix, but I think they could be done just as easily without if you buy pre ground nut meal.

I also do jars of home-made muesli tied with pretty ribbon.

10. Where will you be spending Christmas this year?

We’ll be heading up to Mildura for Christmas to be with our families this year. Nothing like a nice hot Christmas day!

11.Where does Santa leave presents in your house?

Under the tree and in Santa sacks for the kids.

12. What do you leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve?

The kids leave milk, cookies and carrots for the reindeer – they get hungry too!
