Milk bottles

Flower arrangements at your wedding are key for setting the tone of your big day. If you’re having a large, sit down dinner reception or a very traditional wedding then you expect to see big floral arrangements of roses or something similar. More rustic themed weddings tend to have smaller floral arrangements scattered around the room – and mini milk bottles are definitely the vase of choice. While you can keep your milk bottle plain there are lots of ways to decorate them so that they match your theme or to add some more colour to the decor. For this tutorial I went with different shades of coloured paint, but metallic spray paint would also look amazing!

What you’ll need:

Mini milk bottles

Masking or washi tape

Paint Brush

Paint

What to do:

Clean your bottles and make sure they’re free of any dust or sticker residue.

Tape your bottles. For this design I left about an inch at the bottom then did a row of tape, a once centimetre gap and another piece of tape (this makes sure you have really neat lines).

Mix up your colours and start painting. You might need to do several layers of paint, but it will be better to do multiple thin layers rather than lots of big thick layers as you will get lumps and drips in the paint.

Allow the paint to dry then remove the tape.

Fill with flowers and place around your venue – so much fun!

Ms Chinoiserie Says: Great for a summer wedding, these colours really pop!  White and black would work too for a touch of monochromatic style..
