Tara & Rhys
The romantic Zonzo Estate wedding of Tara & Rhys is all about heart to me. The couple included their two sons in their day (and even in their first dance) recognising that this day was as much about their family and friends as it was about their own love story. Choosing photographer Shot from the Heart, the pair took to the beautiful winery region of the Yarra Valley to celebrate.
Tara reminisces about how the pair came to fall in love. “We are high school sweet hearts, Rhys was the locker above me and would tip my locker over and would leave notes inside it to get my attention. We have been together since I was 14 and Rhys was 15.”
Tara chose a stunning long sleeve wedding gown made by Georgia Young Couture . She tells “I knew what I wanted and had tried so many dresses on and could not find anything. I found Georgia on Instagram and as soon as I saw her stunning dresses I knew I wanted her to make my dress. I had a meeting with her and she understood exactly what I was after. It was such an exciting moment. I had five fittings and I loved that I had full involvement as it was being made to my body. She thought about every detail and made sure everything was perfect. I’m so glad I chose her to make my dress.
When I picked it up I was so I love with it, it was classic with the sleeves but the lace was a beautiful Ivory bohemian print, I had another colour for the bodice underneath so that the lace stood out more. I loved the buttons and the soft panels that dropped from the hip and my train were amazing.”
Tara and Rhys chose Zonzo Estate for their wedding, Tara explaining “They were so professional and very friendly. The food is amazing and there is so much food that everyone is very full by the end of the night.”
Tara walked down the aisle with her father to “The Wedding Song” by Angus & Julia Stone.
Melbourne Celebrant Danielle officiated the ceremony “I will never forget that moment looking into Rhys’s eyes knowing that we both had never been surer about anything in our lives.”
“We loved seeing how everything came together after so much heart and soul went into organising the day, everything went to plan and was exactly everything we had dreamed of ! We would not change one single thing.”
Of their photographers, Tara notes “They are the most beautiful down to earth genuine mother and daughter and take the most amazing photos. I get silly in front of the camera and they make me feel so at ease. I could not recommend them more . Just pure talent.”
For their first dance, the newlyweds chose”Bella” by Angus & Julia Stone.
Tara remembers one of her favourite moments of the day. “My dad sang for Rhys and me at the reception, I have never heard him sing like that, he had taken 12 weeks of singing lessons! It was so emotional and special something I will never forget. He sang “I loved her first”.”
Lunar Red Productions captured this magic film of the day. “Carlo is great, he captures moments you would not even think of and he is a fun and friendly guy. I first found him when I saw a video he had done and I got goosebumps and cried. I had to have him for our wedding I think I booked him nearly two years before our wedding. His videos blow me away. We love Carlo.”
