I’m so excited today! I’ve been granted the right to bring you the first shots of the new Henri Josef range designed by Henry Roth (Weinrech) Michelle Roth and their family!
Henri Josef is an Australian family run business which started over 55 years ago with Joseph and Aneta Weinrech. Together they had three children- Michelle, Henry and Lillian. Michelle opened her flagship 57th Street Manhattan store in 1996 and Henry soon joined her. Henry also began Henry Roth in 2003.

The Roth name has become well known in the United States and has been featured in well known places such as Martha Stewart’s wedding DVDs, Bridezillas, Planet Bride on Wedding Podcast Network and they co authored a book with Sharon Naylor titled ‘Your Day, Your Way, The Essential Handbook For The 21st Century Bride’ and much more!
Now Michelle & Henry have returned to Australia to reinvigorate the label they were born into – Henri Josef. Together with their parents they have designed their new range with Australian brides in mind!
Polka Dot Bride is the place to be for these gowns – you won’t find the sneak peeks I am able to share anywhere else! This is such an honour as a wedding blogger as the gowns are hitting stores mid to late March!
Henry described the new range
“We like ‘different’ and we don’t want to do anything that has a cereal box attitude, so we love to design with tremendous sophistication. Fashion in our dresses and style must also mean glamour and we never go too far. We are not into fashion for ‘fashion’s’ sake.”
How is that for inspiring? Let’s start off with just a few of the new creations
Ah elegance! Off the shoulder, a beautiful rich cream and lace on the bodice! I picture this gown with warm hues of chocolate and gold. An autumn wedding with leaves on the ground and hot cocoa served in gold patterned china cups.
How cute is this bridesmaid dress? It’s one of my favourites! So fifties glam! A picturesque garden wedding would suit this frock, with cupcakes and pink champagne served post ceremony and bunches of pink peonies held by the bridal party.
The black embroidery on this gown is a stunning feature. This gown would be really set off with some sky high black stilettos and a white and black damask palette. Touches of cherry red or a lovely apple green would add a gorgeous twinkle of colour.
Va Va Voom! The perfect bridesmaid dress to the above wedding gown! Sexy and sleek it’ll shine at a formal wedding. An evening affair with bunches of white rose blossoms, simple jewellery to really let the gown shine and some stylish ebony or pewter stilettos.
Check back next week from more sneak peaks of the new range and tell me what you think of them so far!
