Good morning Dotties! It’s time for another week and a wonderful one too. Still no Christmas shopping, but plenty of ideas for Polka Dot Bride, so that counts for something right? Don’t forget to enter our Style Rocks competition! It closes soon!
First up, as is Monday morning tradition, a shining spotlight on the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory
We don’t have the biggest Australian directory, but we’ve never wanted that. We’re committed instead to filling our directory with passionate talented wedding vendors (like Hair & Beauty, Cinematography, Venues, Bridal Gowns) who actually want to do brilliant, brand new things. Our directory members (and our fantastic advertisers in general) are all ones who want to work with the special breed of reader that is a polka dot. Looking for something different, searching for ways to make their wedding their very own and wanting vendors who can help them execute it.
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory (and if you’re working with amazing vendors, tell them about us!) and check out some of the very best in Australian wedding talent!

Telling a story through motion is an art and nothing else can help you remember the way it sounded- the way your dad said his speech, the way your guests laughed at loud at your carefully written vows, the stumble you made during your first dance. I love wedding films and I love our directory member Innovate Media who captures beautiful wedding day stories as moving works of art.
We asked Ben from Innovate Media five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
A glass of single malt whiskey can make a rough day shine for me.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
For me it’s all about getting away and into the bush. Camping and hiking with my little family.
Spirit House in Yandina (Sunshine Coast hinterland)… amazing Thai flavours in an incredible setting.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Scrambled eggs, Sour dough toast… oooh yeah!
Your favourite wedding story?
My own… (is that allowed?) My wife is my inspiration and my motivation. It’s cliched I know but our wedding day is truly one that I will never forget. I am so fortunate to be witness to many couples on their special days but when I think back on our own my heart lifts every time. I tell love stories through my wedding films, and although every story is unique and special to each couple it is inevitable that every story I tell is informed by my own understanding of love. This is the love I get every day from my wife, and my family.
