While getting your makeup done on the big day can be a great help—unless your maid of honour is also your makeup artist—sometimes you might be left to touch it up yourself! But neverfear, I’m here with 10 tips on what to pack in your wedding day makeup kit, so that even if your blush fades, you can stay a blushing bride all day long.

1. Lipstick:  From nibbling on cake to the all-important kiss, your lipstick is going to get a workout on your wedding day! I suggest grabbing a tube of the shade your makeup artist uses on you, or if going it alone, a lipstick that’s easy to apply on the run.

I love Clinique’s Chubby Sticks as the twist-up crayon is great for 5 minute fix-ups and their new Intense colours give you great coverage. An added bonus is that they’re moisturising as well, making them great for lips dried out from the day. Image of Clinique‘s Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino.

2. Nail Polish: There’s nothing in this world that I hate more than chipped nails! It always seems like just when your fingertips are perfectly polished, a cheeky chip appears to ruin it all. That’s why it’s a great idea to pack along a matching polish and nip those chips in the bud once and for all. My new favourite nail gurus Ciaté have created the perfect shade of ballerina pink which comes with a cute bow to boot! Image of Ciaté’s Paint Pot in Amazing Gracie.

3. Travel Powder Brush: Planning to apply powder on the run? You’re going to need a brush to help you out! Just don’t make my mistake and pack a normal powder brush (which will paint the inside of your purse a lovely shade of cream), bring along a retractable brush and reduce the mess. 4. Makeup Remover: If you’re the type to cry at weddings (guilty!) you’re probably going to have some smudged mascara or eyeliner to deal with on the day. To prevent panda eyes, I love Almay’s Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks, which are cotton buds packed with makeup remover and ready to go! Just whip out and wipe away any runaway eye makeup, and no one will know you’re tearing up like it’s the last scene of Titanic. Image from Priceline.

5. Blotting Paper: Everyone wants to glow on their big day, but shine? That’s taking it a little far! If you’re prone to oily skin, or tying the knot on a sunny day, blotting papers can be a great help. Just blot away any shiny spots before reapplying your foundation, and you’ll be sure not to outshine the ring on your finger. Image of Bobbi Brown‘s Blotting Paper Refills.

6. Blush Stick: If you want to remain a blushing bride, but don’t want to bring your whole makeup kit with you, a blush stick is a great way to do without the brush. Just twist up, apply a tiny amount (blush tends to stick a little too well to makeup that’s been sitting on your face for awhile) and rub in with your fingertips. My favourite is Clinique‘s Blushwear Cream Stick in Rosy Blush.

7. Compact Mirror: My friends often make fun of me for taking a mirror with me everywhere I go, but guess who they run to when they need to redo their lippy? If you don’t have a designated mirror dispenser in your bridal party, it’s a good idea to bring along a compact of your own. I use Anna Sui’s iconic Beauty Mirror M because I’m a sucker for its vintage-inspired style, but also, this purse-sized cutie stands up on it’s own, so you’ve got both hands free for fixing makeup.

8. Pressed Powder: Pressed powder is a great way to touch up your foundation and combat shine without having to get the liquid out. I brush on a small amount of MAC‘s Select Sheer Pressed Powder for a light coverage that looks natural.

9. Concealer Pencil: I’m a big fan of a concealer pencil for on the go touch-ups. Whether it’s a pesky pimple or blemish that reappears, or a shadow under the eye that needs brightening later in the day, a concealer pencil is an easy way to cover it up. I love E.L.F‘s Studio Concealer Pencil & Brush, because its blending brush makes last minute fix-ups that little bit easier.

10. Eyeliner Pen: Eyeliner is always the first to fade and the hardest to fix up in a hurry! That’s why I like to use a precision tool like Smashbox’s Limitless Liquid Liner Eye Pen which has a tapered end to help create a lovely line. It’s also completely water (and tear) proof!
