Kelly & Broeden

There is such a beautiful feel to today’s modern romantic wedding. But what I love the most, is Kelly’s wide ear to ear grin throughout the entire day. If there is one thing I know, it’s that a smile like that is infectious and only a small sliver of the joy that is actually weaving its way throughout the day. The couple (who you might recognise from this Australian Glamping Wedding Inspiration shoot) chose Florido Weddings to capture their day.

The newlyweds tell the story of how they came to be. “We (Broeden & Kelly) met when in Middle School. Broeden was in grade 9, Kelly in grade 8. Kelly claims she always liked him that little bit more than friends. And it remained that way until we picked up where we left off just 4 years after finishing grade 12. We’ve been inseparable ever since.”

Industrial Brisbane Wedding

Kelly and Broeden chose the industrial style Brisbane Powerhouse as their wedding venue, noting, “The entire wedding was held at Brisbane Powerhouse. The venue was also the one and only place we’d visited. No need to look further when you find the perfect place to get married!”

Green and Bloom styled the wedding, bringing to life Kelly and Broden’s vision of a modern wedding with plenty of colour.

The couple wrote their own vows to each other. Kelly notes. “The ceremony was unplugged which was important to both of us. All attention was where it needed to be. The ceremony had the same theme as the reception room. Modern romantic was lots of colour.”

There was one very special ceremony attendee, Kelly remembering, “Our Border Collie, Bailey was a surprise special groomsman for Broeden during the ceremony. He was even worked into our celebrant’s speech.”

First kiss as newlyweds

Kelly remembers, “We surprised both of our Mums with the honour of signing our wedding certificate. Which made both Mums very touched and a tad emotional.”

Of their photographer, Kelly notes, “I couldn’t be happier with the result & will show off my amazing pics to anyone that will look! Callie was our first choice – we even told her we were booking her before we were engaged! All of them.”

Surprise first dance

The newlyweds surprised their guests with a very cool first dance, Kelly remembering, “We secretly choreographed out first dance to one of our favourite Ministry Of Sound mixes. Nothing traditional about this dance. Props to our choreographer Jody from Rhythm & Dance Attitude for her patience and dance wisdom!”

Kelly remembers, “The Father-Daughter dance was quite special and was totally made-up on the spot! Plenty of air guitar was involved in the making of this dance!”

Glen from G&M DJs acted as MC and DJ for the evening, Kelly remarking, “We loved all of our vendors. They were all extremely professional and amazing at what they do. I do not have a single negative thing to say about any of them. Special mentions go out to Glen from G&M DJ’s for being the downright most amazing dude in the MC’ing business. We received more compliments from guests regarding his work than on anything else! ”

The couple chose Roost Film Co to capture a film of their day. I love that it captured the emotion of the day- the teary bits, the joyous bits, the amazing dancing and the intense love in the room.

Congratulations Kelly and Broeden! Thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us! Thank you also to Florido Weddings for sharing today’s wedding.
