With a passion for the wild and whimsical Penny of Down the Garden Path Botanical Studio loves creating floral designs that include touches of the unusual both in colour and substance – fruit, interesting berries and foliage to name a few – in her botanical creations. However you look at them, flowers are all beautiful – but it’s the way the colours, shapes and unusual elements are combined that give them the ‘wow’ factor. And that’s what Penny loves to do – creating the perfect arrangements for your wedding day that take your breath away.

We asked Penny of Down the Garden Path Botanical Studio five questions in five minutes:

What is your reward after a big working day?

Yoga in a darkened room or a swim at the beach in summer and always a glass or two (or three) of wine…

Favourite weekend getaway?

Anywhere up or down the coast, out of the city – I’ve only lived in Sydney a few years so I’ve still got so many new places to explore.

What is your most prized possession?

My vintage sewing machine, snapped up serendipitously at a garage sale for $5, it works like a dream!

Favourite restaurant?

The Viet in Newtown – fresh simple Vietnamese done right!

What do you most enjoy about being in the wedding industry?

That it’s a celebration of love, full of promise and optimism.
