Italian Long Lunch Country Wedding Ideas With Watercolour Details

by | Bride, Inspiration Shoot, Wedding Inspiration,

If any country knows how to do an amazing long lunch, it’s Italy. The nation of feasting and celebration served as the most beautiful inspiration for today’s Italian Long Lunch Country Wedding Ideas With Watercolour Details shoot.

Led by designer Elizabeth of ELK Prints, the team wanted to create an Italian luncheon inspired celebration with an Australian twist. “Bella Vita”, a “beautiful life”, set the scene of an occasion for a couple who treasure family and tradition, who love simple pleasures, like pasta and prosecco, who love to dance barefoot, who love to explore and who appreciate the beauty that comes from appreciating and respecting the time and skills of others.

With Angus Porter behind the camera, the scene included a raw, timber long-table topped with a natural silk runner, white marble platters and cream crockery (from Elizabeth’s personal collection) plus pink crystal glassware and gold cutlery (from Pretty Pedestals). At each place setting, was a jar of olives – a perfectly appropriate wedding favour – complemented by botanical-printed pieces for the guests of honour. Flatware was tied with poetry notes and customised for each guest, that told the love story of the newlyweds created by Charlie Writes. The table was topped with garlands of greenery, peach blooms styled by Decorations by Jelena and watercolour stationery by ELK Prints that set the scene beautifully for the charcuterie-style feast whipped up by Bella Vita Bar.

Elizabeth notes “The style of our shoot is pretty and romantic with a relaxed boho vibe. Watercolour textures, beautiful florals and classical undertones form the basis for our Italian long lunch in an Australian rural setting. We used a colour palette of cream, deep peachy pinks, lemon and orange tones with the olive colours of the Italo/Australian landscape we were inspired by.”

A beautiful masterpiece of a wedding cake, created by Sugar Pot, featured two tiers adorned with delicate sugar flowers that echo the watercolour details carried throughout the styling.

And then the fun, Bella Vita Bar caravan with its blue and white awning and watercolour floral decals (by ELK Prints) was surrounded by gorgeous Australian native and Mediterranean plants from Pop Up Gardens. Signage, carefully created by Signed by Bird welcomed guests to the celebration.

Our “newlyweds” Ami and Stephen Beck embodied the easy joy that the shoot wanted to inspire. The groom, dressed in earth tones and relaxed styling, has a nod to formality with a laidback vibe. The bride, dressed in a Daughters Of Simone gown from Love, Marie with a  Simona Bridal hairpiece, had her hair and makeup styled by Emma McGill. Elizabeth adding, “We wanted the day to appear very intimate and loving and suggest how the guests and the bridal couple may experience those moments together.”

Lovely colour palette. I love the stationary particularly the menu in the round and placed
on the plate, a bit different and very pretty.

Yes – how stunning is that menu!

Looks like part of the setting.
