Jess and James

I find something so enchanting about the beautiful landscape of Tasmania and, when Sweet Natured Photography shared her pictures of Jess and James’ romantic Tasmanian engagement photos on Mount Wellington, I was immediately hooked. When the trees engulf you, the colours are saturated and there is a love story to be told? Well, I’m right there with it!

It was in a fairy-light-filled tent that James proposed. Jess remembering, “James told me he’d booked a table at our favourite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. On the way there he took the wrong turn – which, of course, I began questioning. He then turned up the road that led to our block of land. When we arrived I could see a tent, surrounded by hundreds of fairy-lights. He led me up and we sat in the tent together, among the lights and blankets. He played a video compilation of some of our memories over the years along with Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”. When the song finished, he got down in front of me and asked me to be his forever – to which I said, “yes! Of course.”

Tinder brought these two together, the bride to be remembering, “James and I actually matched on Tinder…he was living in Launceston and I was living in Hobart, which was odd because I don’t remember having my distance set that far. He was coming down for a soccer match a few weeks later so we decided to meet – then proceeded to watch the worst movie ever…we still laugh about how terrible it was today”.

On what they love about one another, the bride remarks, “Things are easy between us – we both love that we just click with each other. Our motto is “we’ll work it out,” because we know that no matter what happens or what changes in our lives we always find a way to make it work. I love that James has a really relaxed nature, while I’m more highly-strung – we balance each other out. James loves how caring I am and how I can’t help but look after the people around me”.

It is with many lovely stories that these two have shared their life together. One of their favourite memories was a rather wayward adventure in London. “When we were travelling in the UK we got lost in the middle of Hyde Park in London; at night, without phone reception. Also, I really needed the bathroom. We ran around in circles for who knows how long. It wasn’t funny at the time, but we laugh about it now.”
