If wearing black on your wedding day has never crossed your mind, then the mystic beauty of today’s decadent & dramatic moody wedding inspiration shoot may just change your mind.

Planned and conceived by stationer Studio B Couture, the team behind today’s shoot, which included photographer Jason Le Photography, floral designer Sassafras Flower Design, cake designer Linet’s Beautiful Cakes, hairstylist Mane Hair Boutique and makeup artist Sally Kuter Makeup Artist .

Set against the historic, dramatic backdrop of MontsalvatGood Day Rentals brought in beautiful vintage furniture, which set the scene for models  Stephen Ellul and Emily Atherton (dressed in a Bella E La Bestia ) black ballgown to take the stage.

Lorelie, of Studio B, tells how Jessica of Sassafras Flower Design, “concentrated on the licorice tones and picked out velvety brown and gorgeous sour greens and highlighted them with vintage cream, sage and pops of burnt apricot and marsala to capture the essence of our moody brief.”

The floral backdrop, sat against the venue’s stain glass windows, featuring mixed foliage, apricot ranunculus, garden roses and orchids combined with ferns and hellebore leaves. The grand cake by Linet’s Beautiful Cakes rounded out the dramatic styling, a white canvas adorned with gold and edible lace adding a sense of opulence.

Lorelie says of the team’s inspiration “Becoming moody was about showing the beauty of the shadows, and highlighting the need to have alternative options considered as beautiful. It was about showcasing this beauty in unusual ways and celebrating the darkness and moodiness, becoming moody did not steal the light but unveiled the beauty of the darkness.

The vision was to create a modern version of an indulgent medieval feast with exotic sweet treats, indulgent abundant fruits and tumbling bowls overflowing with delicate florals. The scene was set outdoors under a plethora of flowering wisteria. we used mix matched platters and stoneware combining collections from several of our vendors to create a luxurious rich moody feel. The stationery was custom designed and drew on the abundance of roses in the shoot to create a delicate floral design that combined both the menu and place card into one hand cut creation.”
