It’s always a good day for a picnic and the team behind today’s gorgeous picnic engagement session wholeheartedly agree. A little live music, a few sweet treats the day is made!

Photographer Amelia Soegijono Photography leads the lovely Vedro and Thea to Sydney’s Fagan park for a beautiful, romantic outdoor celebration of their story.

For the couple (who capture their lives together on Youtube), who met during university, it seems it was always meant to be. Thea tells their story “We first met back then in 2010 through a uni club when I was in my first and he was in his third year of uni. We were in the same club, and got to know each other then.”

The couple, who love sharing their creativity, even more to reflect this side of their personalities throughout the shoot – a fun ukelele, a vintage film camera and a little black and white photography a nod to their more whimsical natures.

The setting went next level with SJR Creative styling up a gorgeous picnic setting with a beautiful bouquet by Trille Floral and carefully crafted stationery pieces from Michelle Kunitoshi Browne. All that was left was a beautiful gown, which The Babushka Ballerina gladly stepped in with, along with makeup artist Niki Simpson who added a little glamour to our bride to be.

Vedro surprised his wife to be with a completely unexpected proposal, Thea remembers “I visited Vedro in Sydney. I was swamped with work and got sick on the way to Sydney. In the end, I spent my first 3 days in bed and even had to go to the ER. We were supposed to watch the Coldplay concert, so I was trying really hard to get healthy. One day I felt better and could get out of bed, Vedro took me strolling around to Berry’s Bay Lookout in Waverton. He showed me a video, a series of clips of my colleagues back home talking about us. I thought that it was an anniversary gift (our dating anniversary is in October), but then a person who he highly respects came on the video and started talking about marriage. When the video ends he gave me a film roll box, and there was a ring inside the film canister! So that was how we got engaged, with Sydney’s skyline as the backdrop, a city where our future together will begin.”
