There is no doubt planning a wedding in a different country can be daunting! Although we now have so much information at our fingertips, it can still be overwhelming to begin to search for vendors that can provide the perfect wedding for you. Putting my Scottish bias aside, the country is still one of the most beautiful places in the world to be married! With moody clifftops, lush and green rolling hills, venues to take your breath away (not just from the cold) and an abundance of talented vendors, I’ve gathered a few together to make your planning a little easier!

The simplest place to start in putting together the wedding of your dreams in Scotland (or in the United Kingdom) is on The Wedding Collective. Filled to overflowing with gorgeous imagery and clever folk ready to craft a gorgeous day, you’ll find everything you need from seasonal florists like Myrtle & Bracken and Pyrus, the latter of which grow their own flowers in a walled garden just outside of Edinburgh, through to stunning stylists such as Hilde. From music and entertainment through to stationery such as The Brahmin Lettering Co, these are hidden gems and small businesses. A beautifully put together community ready to help you plan your day.

Providing the facial of our dreams are the lovely ladies at 33 Dowanhill! Although you may be flying in to the country with only a few days to spare before your wedding, may I heartily suggest you make time for a Signature Facial from these Glasgow skincare geniuses. If you’re in the country for much more time, lucky you! Planning some rest and relaxation before your wedding always sounds good to us, and we promise you’ll leave this special spot simply glowing! With a focus on the best and most luxurious skin care available (and no brand affiliation, so you know it’s the top of the crop!), the comfiest treatment bed and the loveliest ladies, these experts in the trade have just released their very own oil blend too, so you can bring some luxury home. Keep in mind, most appointments are booked out months in advance, so get in early, or follow on Instagram to snap up a cancellation!

Finding the perfect wedding jewellery can be tricky, even when you’re living in the country you plan to be wed in! Ebba Goring uses the intricately delicate technique of turning hand stitched cotton into the finest gold jewellery, hunting down gorgeous stones especially for each customer. If something bespoke is on your radar, you’ll need to be in touch early, however both Ebba Goring and Belfast based MAIRI are worth it! With stunning pieces one can only fall in love with, this jewellery would be a precious addition to your day.

There are so many hidden gems and small business bursting with joy and creativity, just waiting to plan your wedding day with you! If an overseas wedding in Scotland or the United Kingdom is your dream, this is the perfect place to start!

Ms Zebra Says: Wow what a fabulous insight into wedding planning in Scotland! It’s so amazing to be able to support small businesses and of course, it helps that they all great vendors too! Thanks Ms Honeycomb for the tips!
