We’re off to the country today, for the most romantic of rustic wedding days with two gorgeous brides- Brittany and Paige, who celebrated their vows in a day that was “rustic, warm and comfortable”.  Add to that the golden country light that only the Australian version of Mother Nature can produce, alongside photography talent like that of Hand Crafted Pictures Co and you’ve got a story so very worth telling.

The pair, who met on a random night out at a Collingwood night club, had a hunch something special was in motion from the moment they met, at least from Paige’s side! “I saw Britt from across the room and knew that I needed to meet her. I approached her friend to try and get a way in, we didn’t speak much on the night but after that, I stalked her on social media and here we are today.”

Brittany popped the question on a weekend trip to Geelong. Paige telling the tale “The proposal didn’t go as planned, although I am sure it doesn’t for most. We went with our furbaby Dexter to Geelong straight after work on a Friday. Britt was trying to plan an exciting and romantic night, packing our telescope and camera so we could do some star gazing. She was so nervous on the way, and I kind of knew something was up.

Upon arriving in Geelong, it was so busy so we kept driving to find a more secluded spot, Britt wanted to take the telescope down to the beach which I  protested at because I was cold. The telescope was out of the plan, and we sat up overlooking Geelong (with a group of people just over to our left) on a picnic blanket with Dexter…. Britt couldn’t speak and just stumbled to get the ring out of her bag and said….”you know I love you” and then nervously she quickly handed me the ring!”

Both Paige & Brittany found their wedding gowns at Bluebell Bridal, Paige explaining “We both weren’t too fussed about our dresses however we booked an appointment at Blue Bell Bridal.

One of us had to try on the dresses while the other waited downstairs, then we swapped. We both tried on around four dresses each and instantly knew which one we loved. We were with my mum and three sisters. When I tried on the winning dress along with the veil, they all cried tears of happiness.”

Paige and Brittany chose Roomba’s @ Mt Aitken for their ceremony and reception, sharing “Roomba’s was the first venue that we saw, we immediately fell in love with the space. It was charming, rustic and perfectly fit within our style. The building was made from bluestone and had beautiful wood throughout. The property had so many ceremony options for all weather conditions and we really fell in love with it on that first day.”

The brides met before their ceremony on the verandah for a first look.

The brides travelled in vintage cars from Triple R Luxury Car Hire.

The brides walked down the aisle one after another. “We searched through so many artists and landed on “Only you” by Parson James” remembers Paige.

Paige & Brittany chose Sweet Wonderful You to officiate their ceremony, sharing “Our celebrant, Erin is the type of person that puts you at ease, we were both terribly nervous but her kind nature and the way she took control of the ceremony really helped make it stress free, she guided us every step of the day.”

The brides worked with Paige’s sister Brooke on the bouquets.  “My sister Bianca made our flowers, she has a wonderful knack with creative things like this and was excited to help us with this part of the wedding. We chose deep colours of native flowers paired with lots of greenery. It tied in perfectly with the wedding style and also the venue.”

Of their photographer, Paige remarks “Ernest was really good, he had multiple cameras and also had a manual film camera that he used to give us a different style of the photo.”

Guests gathered for a sit-down reception dinner (complete with a chocolate drizzled wedding cake by Jessicakes.)

“We loved the atmosphere, both sides of the family and friends were genuinely happy and you could really feel the love in the air from everyone. It was truly an amazing feeling.”

The first dance? Short and sweet remembers Paige. “Our first dance song was Calum Scott’s “You are the reason”. We only shared a short dance before inviting everyone up because we felt awkward slow dancing!” The couple chose Mercury DJ Hire to kick off the dance floor and keep it humming all night long.

And to top off a magical day, we have the most stunning of films from Native Weddings that captured the utter joy of the day unfolding.

A big congratulations to you both Paige and Brittany! Thank you for sharing your beautiful stories with us. Thank you also to Roomba’s @ Mt Aitken and Hand Crafted Pictures Co for sharing the day!
