Happy Monday Dotties! We are so in tune with the autumn weather right now (except for those of us who have managed to fly to tropical islands and sunshine).

Weekends filled with family time and cosy meals – it’s our favourite time of the year! A wedding held at this time of the year means you too can fill the day with all the things that are cosy ensuring your guests will remember your candlelit reception, the hot toddies, and the toasties that you’ve arranged to send them on their way at the end of the night. Time to take a look at our Polka Dot Directory which is filled with vendors ready to help you with your wedding!! We have Cinematography, we have Photography, we have Bridal Gown Services and Jewellery – we even have Wedding planners and Stationery & Paper Goods!

Check out the Polka Dot Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!

There is something utterly romantic and whimsical walking into The George Ballroom with its carefully restored elegance and ornate ceilings reminiscent of genteel days gone by. Taffeta gowns and a small orchestra would not look out of place here – yet, fill the venue with modern furniture, lighting and simple blooms or palm and fern fronds and the space looks modern and so of the moment. Seating for 150 guests with a dance floor, as well as the elegant menu, design and styling by Damm Fine Food, your wedding will be the dream you always hoped it would be.

We asked James at The George Ballroom five questions in five minutes:

What is the most important piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?
Give yourself plenty of time throughout your wedding day to share some special moments together – just for the two of you. If you are rushing all day and night, your celebration will be over in a whirlwind of kisses, toasts and cheers before you know it. Take the time to be a little spontaneous with your new spouse and share some magical memorable moments.

Tell us about a hidden talent you have?
I can do the worm!

As a vendor, what excites you about the wedding day?
Throughout the planning process, you become quite close to the wedding couple. It’s always exciting to see their reactions walking into The Ballroom and seeing that their wedding dream has come to life. Knowing their expectations have been exceeded is always the best part of any Event Manager’s role.

What are you known for?
The George Ballroom is known for its pure, authentic romance and whimsy. Our professional service combined with the energy of the space truly feels like a different era that you can’t find anywhere else.

If you could choose a song to play for the rest of your life what would it be?
Feeling Good by Nina Simone – nothing better!
