Amy & Alain

We love spring for its blooming flowers, but for Amy & Alain, flowers weren’t the only thing blooming on their wedding day. These two planned an October wedding, but the universe miraculously threw a spanner in the works. Amy fell pregnant and their October wedding date moved to accommodate her growing belly.

They invited Heart and Soul Weddings along to capture their day, at the Mornington Peninsula’s (and oh so spring wedding-worthy) Lindenderry At Red Hill.

The pair met online, Alain choosing Hawaii to pop the oh so important question. Amy shares the tale “Al proposed in Hawaii at the top of Diamond Head. I thought he might propose on the trip but wasn’t expecting to be hot and sweaty in my gym gear. We have the whole proposal on video with commentary by the group of Korean backpackers who filmed it. It was really special!”

Amy found her wedding gown at Nifi Bridal, she remembers “The day I was meeting my bridesmaids to look at wedding dresses, I found out I was pregnant! Had to rethink the style of dress as I knew I wanted to marry Al and not postpone the wedding. Nifi Bridal was great and held my dress in the queue until we were sure what size I would need at 30 weeks pregnant!” Amy added her bridesmaid’s veil and her mother’s pearl earrings to complete her look.

Amy and Alain chose the beautiful Lindenderry At Red Hill for their celebration “We chose to get married in the vines at Lindenderry Estate,” tells Amy. “The walk down the aisle was breathtaking and was our main reason for choosing the venue. We had our reception inside. The function room was classic and allowed us to decorate in our style.

We loved the whole day, our favourite detail was the surroundings, the venue was so beautiful and it meant our photographer, Sonia captured some beautiful shots to keep the memories alive.”

Amy walked down the aisle with her father to John Legend’s “All of Me”.

Amy and Alain were married by Emma Tomlinson. Amy remarking “Our ceremony was beautiful and Emma, the celebrant did a wonderful job of incorporating the special touches, we wrote our vows and a dear friend did a reading.”

“We wanted blush and white tones,” tells Amy of the blooms styled by J & N Paradise of Flowers. “The florist did an amazing job with our vision for the ceiling hoops. The bridesmaid bouquets were classic roses with a twist of natural rustic charm.”

The groom, who wore a grey suit from Connor, added a pink waistcoat in acknowledgement of the couple’s pending arrival.

Of their photographer, the bride shares “Sonya The was a friend through work who had started her photography business and we saw she had great passion and artistic flair, she worked with us prior to the day to ensure we got the perfect shots on our big day and we think she was as excited as us about the new addition to our family.”

Guests gathered for a dinner reception at long tables, much of the decor was done by Amy and Alain themselves. The bride noting “We did quite a bit of DIY as Al is very handy, we made the place cards which were custom chocolate bars, painted a 12 Ikea candle holders and decorated 12 mason jars with glue, jute & ribbon. The set up of the reception was done the night before with all of the flowers and table decorations by the myself & bridesmaids.”

The newlyweds took to the dance floor to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”.

A big congratulations to you both Amy and Alain! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Thank you also to Heart and Soul Weddings for today’s beautiful images
