When it came to dreaming up cocktails that are quintessentially spring for The Spring Issue, well, we couldn’t go past a classic mint julep. Served up in a silver cup, with plenty of crushed ice, this bourbon cocktail has all the fresh spring flavour with a delightful kick. It speaks of green grass, blue skies, rocking chairs on porches, lazing on the lawn and plenty of celebration.

We’re particular fans of serving this one up after a garden wedding ceremony, encouraging guests to celebrate your nuptials in their finest attire, in spring hats under the dappled shade of freshly budding trees. I’m sure you agree there really couldn’t be a better way to toast the beauty of spring!

  5. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
