This month we are celebrating all things Australia. And what better way to celebrate this country than by ticking off some of the most quintessential Australian experiences from your bucket list, while on your honeymoon. Here are some of our top picks for exclusively Australian experiences!

Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb is a classic experience that locals and tourists have been participating in since 1998. There’s no better way to experience the breathtaking views of the city all while pumping a little bit of adrenaline. Each climb is approximately 3 and a half hours long and 1,332 steps.

Explore the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef can be explored in many different ways depending on your preferred activity. You could try snorkelling, diving, seas tours, and even view it from above or by the shore. As such a delicate part of the world, make sure you consider options that won’t harm the surrounding environments or support unethical practices.

Take a selfie with Quokka
These friendly animals are popular on social media under #quokkaselfie. You can get your quokka selfie at Rottnest Island in Western Australia, where the animals and flora are protected. Quokkas are often referred to as some of the happiest animals and are one of the smallest wallaby species in the world.

Cruise the Great Ocean Road
Cruising the famous 243km stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia should be on everyone’s bucket list. This iconic drive is not only scenic but provides plenty of great activities along the way, including gazing at the 12 Apostles, rainforest walks, a picnic lunch at Bells Beach and a visit to Torquay Surf City, the home of Rip Curl.

See kangaroos
Whilst you can see kangaroos from a distance in most parts of Australia, there is nothing like seeing them up close and supporting local sanctuaries. The Kangaroo Sanctuary, just outside of Alice Springs. is the perfect place to get your fix of these adorable creatures. Take part in a sanctuary tour and see the work involved in caring for these beautiful animals.
