The Colour Issue is all about using the most vibrant of tones and when it comes to cocktails, I think the classic Tequila Sunrise has to be up there for popping off your screen drinks.

The combination of simple orange juice with the ombre red addition of grenadine has is always been a favourite for tropical holidays. I think though, that this one, is just the ticket for tropical summer weddings and a must make for The Colour Issue.

Ingredients

  • 90ml orange juice
  • 50ml Tequila
  • 15ml grenadine
  • Ice
  • Citrus slices
  • Maraschino cherries

Method

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine orange juice. ice and tequila and shake until cold.
  2. Add ice to a tall glass and pour the mixture through a strainer.
  3. Slowly add the grenadine, pouring over the back of a spoon on an inside side of the glass, and watch the magic happen. Remember not to stir!
