Ms Tweed Says: Despite not being able to travel right now and the the temporary closure of venues and activities, we still wanted to show off the wonderful honeymoon activities and honemoon experiences on offer in the stunning Byron Bay area. Celebrating and promoting the local vendors is the best way to help ensure their doors re-open once again. In the post below, our beloved Bec is sharing four of Byron’s finest experiences to enjoy on honeymoon with your loved one just as soon as we can get our toes back in the sand at Australia’s beloved Byron Bay.

Byron Bay has a reputation not only for being a beautiful wedding destination but also as a great honeymoon destination. From the Hinterland to the town centre, there’s so much to explore and, today we’re looking at activities you can add to your honeymoon itinerary whilst staying in the region. So, let’s get moving there’s much to see.

Zephyr Horses
Are you an animal loving couple? If so, this is the activity for you.

Zephyr Horses offer small, personalised horse riding experiences on the beach or in the sub-tropical woodlands.

Get a glimpse of Byron Bay’s diverse flora and fauna on a forest trail. You’ll spend time getting to know your horse before riding through the native Tea Tree swamp and water. This experience lasts an hour all up but Zephyr Horses also offer longer tours should you decide you want to spend more time with the horses.

Toast the Sun
What’s better than stunning views, a romantic sunrise and good food? Toast the Sun was designed for couples who appreciate a little natural beauty and the finer things in life. Experience Australia’s first mainland sunrise and whale migration whilst feasting on a three-course breakfast at the Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe. Your intimate breakfast will be one for the memory books with a menu packed with local, organic, spray-free ingredients (where possible) and vegan options are available as well.

Lighthouse Trail
The Lighthouse Trail is a 1-2 hour walk boasting spectacular coastal views. It’s around a 4km loop and is rated as an easy walk with only some strenuous sections of stairs. The track is one of Australia’s more famous walks and notably so as tourists and locals alike continue to visit this picturesque trail spotting whales and dolphins along the way.  Make sure you pack some swimmers and take a dip in the beach on your way back down the track.

Byron Bay Ballooning
Keeping with the theme of exploring Byron’s beautiful natural landscape, why not admire it from above. Byron Bay Ballooning Co. offer sunrise flights over the Byron Bay Hinterland with packages including transfers, gourmet champagne breakfast, and a one hour sunrise experience. The experience is rated 5-stars and the pilots are well trained and issued with a commercial pilots license.

The experience starts at $269pp and you do have the option of booking a VIP experience and having the balloon all to yourself though this does come at an additional charge. If you’re feeling really adventurous you could even package your hot air balloon trip with skydiving for a day packed full of adrenaline and excitement.
