Sometimes there’s a fine line between a semi-formal and formal outfit, but a mere tie can get you over the line. As you probably know, there are thousands and thousands of styles out there, but this season you should keep an eye out for what’s hot. ‘70s fashion, burgundy, leopard print, brown and velvet are all the rage right now. So, I’ve created a list of our favourite ties inspired by these trends of the season!

Eton Geometric Cotton & Silk Tie – The geometric motif marks and pastel colours on this tie are as retro as retro can get! Pink is a colour that a lot of men are afraid of wearing, but this shade of pink is basically a soft peach and is what makes the tie so ‘70s and charming!

Politix Evra Tie – Burgundy would have to be the colour of the season, but rather than going for a plain burgundy tie, I think the beautiful rich floral decoration on the navy of this tie will really add that old world glamour to an ensemble! For maximum wow factor, combine the tie with a white shirt and navy suit!

Lanvin Animal Print Tie – Want to be subtly daring? True leopard print is undoubtedly worn by fashion risk-takers because they like making a statement! This tie is one you can wear to a special occasion, as the black leopard pattern is on a dark background and isn’t overwhelming! As a result, you can still channel those modern-day rock ’n’ roll vibes.

MJ Bale Voldra Taupe Bow Tie – Along with burgundy, brown is in. Brown has long been considered an outdated colour, but not anymore! The bow tie’s simple design of brown and white pinstripes is tasteful and dazzling, and it would look fantastic alongside charcoal suiting.

Alexander McQueen Velvet Bow Tie – This season, Alexander McQueen blew us away with his rich and romantic velvet suit as it came down the runway. His velvet bow tie here is just as spectacular. Add a hint of preppy to your black tie attire with this plush bow tie!

And there you have it – our favourite ties of the moment, according to this season’s trends. Why not appreciate the warm and comforting hues of burgundy this winter and present your closet with a new wine or purple tie!
